Christmas

This year we went and cut our own tree. My family decided to come too. It was quite an adventure. We left a little late in the day and before we found trees we loved we lost a lot of daylight. Then we hiked down a mountain, decided to send Colby back for the truck and got stuck on a 4 wheeler trail. We had to find an alternate route out of the canyon. By the time we got back to the other truck it was dark and we were cold. But we all got our trees and I think ours is gorgeous. (sorry about sideways pics. I'm computer retarded and can't figure out how to rotate them)

Christmas was good this year. Santa, her grandparents, aunts and uncles made sure Alexys was thoroughly spoiled. She got a flyboat (all she would ask for) an art kit, moon sand, play dough, ponies, 2 dollhouses, a laptop, pillow chum, Tinkerbell doll, Cinderella doll and horse, walkie talkies, new doll stroller and carrier, clothes upon clothes, Ashlee made her a blanket and some other things that I can't think of. I got a new camera and wii fit plus. Justin got a Blu ray player with a few dvd's. And we got 4 other wii games.

Hooch loves the pillow chum. He thinks it's his.

Happy news!!!

We are expecting our second baby. I am due June 11 but on all ultrasounds we've had (I have a large cyst on my ovary that my doctor was concerned about and was monitoring) s/he was measuring bigger than the gestational age. I do have a pic to add but have to scan it in so I'll get to that soon. We get to find out next week the sex of the baby and I couldn't be more excited. I do have to say that this pregnancy has been much tougher than with Alexys. I got the swine flu at 6 weeks, a sinus infection a few weeks later, and a 24 hour stomach but a few weeks later. All with puking my guts out in between. I have lost 12 pounds but now am starting too feel and eat much better.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was spent at my in laws in Vegas. We were there a whole week and I don't think we took any pictures. Alexys loves playing there as they have a trampoline. She is a jumper for sure. And they have her cousins Domminiq, Tyson and Caden to play with too. She is so patient with Tyson and Caden who are both a year younger then her. I think she will be a great big sister.
On Thanksgiving day we had lots of good food that I was too sick to eat. Being pregnant sometimes sucks. Then we played games. I went to bed early because I wasn't feeling great and we were going to Toys R Us at midnight for their Black Friday sales. I was bright eyed and bushy tailed enough to go. We stood in line in the cold (but nowhere near as cold as Utah so for that I was thankful) and wind for a whole hour because the occupational limit was reached. Then when we finally got into the store I just went and jumped in line as everyone else shopped. We stood in the checkout line for an hour and a half. After Toys R Us we went to Sonic to grab a burger, then Wal Mart. They let us check our stuff out early so we were in and out in half an hour. Then home to sleep for a while longer then more shopping. It was a good vacation.

Halloween

The pumpkin Justin carved all lit up.

The pumpkin! (yep freehand by my talented husband)

The cutest scary witch ever!

Off we go.

She is silly!
Miss Alexys was a witch for Halloween. We reused her dress from the wedding and I made a little vest thing. I stuffed the skirt with plastic spiders, snakes, skeletons, rats and bats. We went to the rec center for trick or treating...that was all she wanted to do. We came home to eat and warm up. I went to get dinner and when I returned Justin had her in the bath. So we stayed home and watched a movie. We got a total of 6 trick or treaters. That left tons of candy for us. Hopefully next year she will enjoy candy gathering more.

P.S. Justin had to go back to Oklahoma for the Advanced Oilfield Mathematics and Engineering course re-do and this time he not only passed but he aced it! He 'graduated' with and A-. Highest score in the class! I am sooooooooooo proud of him!

Anniversary

On September 25 Justin and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. For some reason I am really proud of this one. Maybe it's because this time last year I wasn't sure if we would make it to 5 years. We were at the brink of divorce and we decided to try one last time and voila. Here we are today.
In 5 years we have:
Moved 4 times in 3 cities.
Endured 14 (really!!) new jobs.
Had countless arguments.
Gone on a total of 2 vacations that didn't involve staying with family.
Had a really beautiful daughter.
Started college (me anyway)
Bought a home.
And so much more.

School

This semester I am taking English 1010. So far I'm loving the class but my professor is tough. His assignments are really hard.

Update.

Justin and Alexys with the Sea Lions

My beautiful flower girl with Danielle's bouquet

At the Aquarium of the Bay...touching starfish.

In a cell at Alcatraz...I didn't know he was taking this pic.

Cool, huge bubbles at the Exploratorium.
Well I have a bit to catch up on. July was my birthday. Yay I'm 23. We didn't do anything but that's okay. August was busy. Justin had to go to Washington for work. He was only supposed to be gone for 3-5 days. It ended up being 10 so we spent some time at my parents house. We came home for 3 days, school started then we had to leave again for Brady and Danielle's wedding. Alexys was a cute little flower girl. The wedding was fun. They got married on Thursday. On Saturday we left for Vegas. We spent Sat-Thurs. visiting Justin's parents then flew to San Francisco. Alexys is a good little flyer. We stayed in the Embassy Suites in Burlingame just outside of San Francisco. It was a cool hotel. We had a view of the Bay. We spent 4 days there. While we were there we went to Brady and Danielle's other reception for her family and friends, took a boat tour of the bay, saw the sea lions (whom Alexys loved, but they stunk) went to the Aquarium of the Bay, went to the Eploratorium (I recommend it to everyone. It was really cool) went down the most crooked street, through Chinatown (I hated that. People there are idiots. Justin almost hit 4-5 pedestrians because they didn't look before walking out in front of us) and we went to Alcatraz.
There is so much to say about the whole trip. I loved the Aquarium. You walk through a tunnel and all the fishies are swimming all around you. I loves seeing the rays. Then you got to touch them too! Alexys was a bit afraid to touch, but warmed up to starfish and sea cucumbers. The sea lions were so fun. Alexys still will tell me 'sea lions say ark ark.' We spent 4 hours at the Exploratorium and only visited 2 out of 5 sections. There was so much cool stuff to do there. I was a bit disappointed in Alcatraz. I've heard that it's haunted and you hear all sorts of funky stuff while there, and I heard that sometimes they lock you in the cells. None of that happened for us. In fact they don't even have a tour guide there anymore. The tour you take is audo through a headset. Had I known this we would have left Alexys on the main land with my parents. She was so bored. It was cool to go and see the prison because I've heard so much about it. And it was extremely informative (and you can ask my family I'm always the one reading signs while they leave me behind.) All in all it was a fun trip.
